Origins

Since I was a child I have been fascinated by objects that make music, and the technology that powers them. For over 20 years, I have been designing, modifying and building audio equipment and musical instruments. I am a maker at heart, and this passion to design new and interesting tools for making music has led me to found Ghost Note Audio, as a way to bring these designs to a wider audience.

Our method of operation is simple; every product we make started out as a way to satisfy my own musical needs. As time passed, I realised that the things I needed weren't unique to just me, and the problems I faced while making music were shared by many others which could benefit from these products as well. This is what drives our innovation. We solve our own problems first, and hope that others might see value in that solution.

Values

To summarize my values in one phrase; Eschew Tradition.

Don't just do things a certain way because that's how it's always been done. Challenge the status quo. Ask questions. Reject dogma. Replace outdated techniques.

I place no value on the concept of "vintage". Vintage means outdated. Things that stand the test of time are not considered vintage, they are practical, and I like practical things that bring value to my every day life.

That's why our designs are simple and minimalist. Anything that doesn't add value is removed, and that which adds value is amplified and allowed to shine.
